The Hollywood Reporter is saying J.J. Abrams has signed on to direct the next installment of the Star Trek feature franchise. J.J., of course, is the man behind Lost, Alias, and Felicity. And get this: The movie's storyline is about a young James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock, chronicling their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and their first space mission. So ... who will play a young Spock and a young Kirk? Here's our sug: Ben Affleck and Matt Damon! It makes total sense! The movie is due in Christmas 2008.
