The Spike Jonze adaptation of Maurice Sendak's beloved children's book Where the Wild Things Are is finally seeing the light of day, after years of work and controversy (Too dark? Too weird? Catch up with Rolling Stone's story here). The trailer is out, and despite the lack of dialogue, I can't help but think this will be fun in Jonze's wildly creative hands.

Last night, the 10 Idolistas tackled -- literally, in some cases -- the Motown songbook, with musical coaching from none other than Smokey Robinson. I've challenged myself to keep my remarks to 10 words or less and provided you with links to check out the perfs yourself. Let's do this!

Matt Giraud ("Let's Get It On"): Hottie makes the stage sizzle; a real personality finally emerges!

Kris Allen ("How Sweet It Is"): James Taylor-ish version induces sleep. His guitar was drowned, pointless.

Scott MacIntyre ("You Can't Hurry Love"): He doesn't have the chops for soul. Probably safe anyway.

Megan Joy ("For Once In My Life"): Dropped her last name to spare her family shame. Abysmal.

Anoop Desai ("Ooo Baby Baby"): Sweet and tender goodness. His falsettos cracked a bit, though.

Michael Sarver ("Ain't Too Proud To Beg"): Texas called -- it wants to revoke your citizenship. God-awful.

Lil Rounds ("(Love Is Like A) Heat Wave"): Her voice resonated, but the song was a poor fit.

Adam Lambert (right, "The Tracks of My Tears"): Looked like Johnny Lloyd Rollins. The judges' raves baffled me.

Danny Gokey ("Get Ready"): Judges said "meh," but I loved his infectious energy!

Allison Iraheta ("Papa Was a Rolling Stone"): Wish Lil had sung this. Allison scored a solid homerun.

Who should go home: Megan, if the universe is merciful. I'll accept Michael or Scott's walking papers, too.

Who I'm afraid will go home instead: Lil. I hope America proves me wrong!

Aw, rats -- just when the competition was finally gettin' going on American Idol, President Obama's gotta go ahead and mess up the show's schedule. Booo, hissss! Well, we won't be live-blogging tonight, but I thought I'd leave you with me and Hunter's list of ...

Songs That Should Be Retired from 'Idol's' Songbook

• First and foremost has got to be Heart's "Alone." No one will ever nail it like Carrie Underwood (above) did, though Allison Iraheta tried her note-for-note damnedest a few weeks ago. Anyone who tries this song only brings back memories of Carrie's performance (see: Malubay, Ramiele).

• Next up is Elton's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me." It's already pretty closely tied to its original singer and George Michael, but Clay Aiken put an earnest new spin on it in his wild card performance in Season 2. Newer, lesser versions by David Archuleta last season and Jorge Nunez this year didn't come close. So let it go, Idolistas.

• Aretha's "Natural Woman" will always be Kelly Clarkson's in my book. Plus, HELLO -- it's Aretha! Who, really, can do her justice as memorably? Remember Leslie Hunt's attempt in Season 6? I've proved my point.

• "I Don't Wanna Be" by Gavin DeGraw. Bo Bice blazed his way into our hearts with his rugged and raspy take on the pop song. Michael Sarver didn't even come close -- scratch this song from the playlist! And, Idolistas, keep your hands off "Vehicle" while you're at it -- Bo knocked that one out of the park, too.

• In general, all Idols are urged to steer clear of songs by Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson and Celine Dion. Yet do they ever? Season after season there's some loser just begging to be eliminated by singing a song by a powerhouse belter. Don't do it!

I don't know much about this spoof, except it's quite funny if you're familiar with the Watchmen story line. I imagine the movie, which is out today, is a tad bit more serious.
